| Jazz Artist and Composer, Adam Larson, began playing saxophone at the age of
11. Recently, Larson was selected as a member of the 2007 Next Generation
Jazz Orchestra. As a member, he will have the opportunity to tour Paris,
France as well as New York City, and will play at the 2007 Monterey Jazz
Festival. Earlier in 2007, Larson was selected as a member of the inaugural
Jazz Band of America, as well as being named a finalist for the 2007
Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Jazz Ensembles. In 2006, Larson's Composition "Near
Your Side" placed first in the IMEA Composition contest, and he also
garnered first place honors for his work in the improvisational category of
the competition. In the summer of 2007, Larson will attend the Ravinia
Summer Jazz Workshop, where he will get the opportunity to work with jazz
legends, James Moody, David Baker, Billy Childs, and Nathan Davis.
Currently, Larson leads his own duo, quartet, and quintet as well as playing
with the Central Illinois Jazz Train, Illinois State Jazz Ensemble I, and
various other groups around the Central Illinois area.
