I put together the combo for a debut in August of 2005. Since then, we've gone through a couple personnel changes. Carrie is starting to do more vocal work, both solo and duet, and we're pretty well dropping the flute (for now). Our daughter, Parker, is also singing a tune or two at most of our engagements. On bass now since April of 2006 is Rob Killam from Jacksonville. Rob turned me onto two of his cohorts to round out the latest version of the combo: Terry Brennan from Decatur is my first call for piano, with Springfield's, John Sluzalis, my favorite drummer. Wow! What a trio. Also known as the Rob Killam Trio, the Straight Ahead Trio, and probably others, depending on the venue. With me, they're upStandards. For that I am blessed, and truly thankful that these guys have allowed me into their lives a little bit. - Nathan
