| | IN MEMORIAM: Alvin passed away September 23, 2005..He was a well known jazz drummer in central Illinois.. he leaves in memory, his partner of 30 years, Marta Butler, 4 children, Robert, Tyler, Andre, and Brandy Butler. he also is survived by 11 grandchildren.
Alvin had played drums since age 9. His early endevors included playing in a local band with his brother Lonnie Butler Jr. The Second Time Around Band, "STAB Band" was noted for being a creative and innovative funk band. He had played with many local groups such as Dave and the Dynamics, Kriss Kross, Change Up, Dangerous, River City Soul Review, Bloomers and Friends and Eddie and Judy Howard. |
