| Before moving to the US in 2002, Simon toured throughout Britain and Ireland with his group 'Skokiaan' which played South African Township Music in the styles of artists such as Hugh Masekela, Dudu Pukwana and Abdullah Ibrahim, besides teaching and playing more conventional straight ahead gigs.
After a four year hiatus, he resumed playing in 2006 and in 2008 started booking performances under the nom-de-guerre 'Aduki'. Since then he has played throughout Central Illinois and has a regular weekly gig at Michael's Resataurant in Bloomington (Fridays, 6 - 8). Simon is currently studying for a masters in Jazz Performance at the University of Illinois. |
