The May Jazz Society Concert will feature a special collection of songs from some of the most beloved jazz vocal stylists over the last eight decades performed by vocalist Ellen Monteith. Ellen grew up in Augusta, Georgia, and lived all over the South plus several years in Europe. She has called Peoria home for 15 years now and brings over forty years of singing professionally in musical theater, nightclubs, arts festivals, and four prior concerts with the Central Illinois Jazz Society. Ellen is a singer who can be trusted with your emotions, pulling audiences into the songs and sharing the expressions of imagination
with impeccable phrasing and tone. Joining Ellen is Derel Monteith- Piano, John Miller- Guitar, Andy Crawford- Bass, Dab Burk- Saxophone and Jason Brannon- Drums

The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will play during the first set, under the leadership of Larry Harms - sax
